Kate Mueller
Kate Mueller has been working in pastel since 1998. She studied art at the Art Students League, at Goddard College with Jim Gahagan and Anci Bozena Slovak, and with Bill Brauer. Most of her work in pastel has been figurative; she has recently begun doing portrait work and painting plein air. In a review of her art, Vermont art critic Anne Galloway noted that Mueller's bold pastel drawings of female nudes blur the line between abstraction and representation . . . [she] has a knack for giving her female forms an edge.
Mueller has exhibited widely in central Vermont, including Christine Price Gallery, Castleton State College; the Vermont Arts Council, Montpelier; ArtPath Gallery, Burlington; Dibden Gallery, Johnson State College; and the juried exhibit at Art in the Round Barn, Waitsfield. In 2005, she was a featured artist at the Chaffee Art Gallery.
Mueller's work is held in numerous private collections. She is available for commissioned work.
