Sharon Lefebvre

Throughout my life, I have sought to include art, in one form or another, in my life. As a child I loved to draw whenever I could and always sought out books on art and artists. After years of raising my children and working many years in another love, bookselling, I am finally finding the freedom to give more time and effort to creating art ö be it gardening, mosaics, photography or painting.

My love of nature has always given me so much peace and pleasure, time in my gardens, hiking throughout our amazing countryside and kayaking on our beautiful lakes and rivers. All of these pleasures lead me to the need to describe it all through art. In my love of photography, I have developed an eye for finding those special compositions just crying to me to be painted.

After struggling with watercolors for some time, a friend encouraged me to try pastels. After taking classes with Louise Max and Robert Carsten, I have fallen in love with this delicious medium and am finding the confidence to continue progressing in the experience of putting beautiful color and form to paper.

I look forward to finding other pastelists in Southern Vermont to share this newfound love.
