"My current work represents my adventures and explorations into the qualities of light and its effects upon the various elements of the landscape.  Through the judicious use of light in the painting the structures, patterns and colors of the landscape unfold.  Light defines form and color, creating depth and dimension in the painting.  Without light there is nothing.

I use pastels for their immediacy, vibrancy and richness of color. They allow me the freedom to be spontaneous and bold in my mark making.  The various textures and effects achieved with different strokes of the pastel all contribute to a lively and exciting composition."
